Flueeng

Flueeng is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to helping Chinese and Ukrainian students improve their English communication skills while building friendships with people from different backgrounds.

For many students in China and Ukraine, learning English can be challenging, especially when they have limited opportunities to regularly communicate with fluent English speakers. While students may learn vocabulary, grammar, and reading in school, practicing real-life conversations can be more difficult. Some students may also feel nervous about making mistakes, pronunciation, or expressing themselves naturally in English.

Flueeng was created to provide a comfortable and supportive space where students can practice English without the pressure of a traditional classroom. Students are matched with fluent English-speaking volunteers for weekly one-hour online sessions and can choose between one-on-one or small-group conversations. These sessions are not formal English classes. There are no required assignments, tests, or lesson plans. Instead, students and volunteers can talk naturally about school, hobbies, music, food, culture, travel, and everyday life.

Our goal goes beyond improving English. Through regular conversations, we hope students can become more confident communicating in English while volunteers learn about different cultures and perspectives. Most importantly, Flueeng hopes to create meaningful friendships that connect people across countries and cultures.
